My journey so far memorable.
I am at a fabulous age where one has already gained a lot of experience and still has the energy to take on new challenges. And I know all about challenges…
My driving forces are joy, novelty and enthusiasm! After a literary preparatory class, I continued my studies at Celsa to work in the field of corporate and agency communications. A few years later, I decided to undertake new studies to become a naturopath. So I left everything to set up my practice, and happily practiced naturopathy for many years. Although I no longer practice today, I remain convinced for life by the benefits of this common sense approach and am still solicited by my close family! I then returned, in a way, to my first loves which had never left me, to practice the "most beautiful job in the world": French teacher in middle and high school.
Then the milestone of fifty arrived with its share of questions. I then took a long time to think about what new challenge I could still take on: a project that would combine my skills, my passions and my deep convictions: the memorable-paris site was thus born!
My passion for the arts of the table came from cooking. I have always loved cooking and entertaining! I still carefully keep my first recipe book, written the summer I was 10, where I compiled the best family recipes and pasted the recipes cut out of magazines. Since my training as a naturopath, I also remain totally convinced that our food is our first medication. Presenting what we cook well is not a superfluous thing: the eye must rejoice before the other senses are solicited. This is why I have always hunted for and wanted to buy beautiful tableware, wherever I go! It is impossible for me to come back from somewhere without having visited the second-hand shops, craftsmen, grocers ... My kitchen is a pretty mess.
On the other hand, like many of you, I make this edifying observation that the consumer society does not seem to be entirely in line with the major ecological issues that we face. Why buy a new carafe that will have required natural resources (raw materials, water, electricity, etc.), very distant transport (from China, not to mention it), when before our eyes marvelous carafes await us? They are the fruit of know-how that is most often French, have original decorations and above all they convey a story ... So there are on one side the fine words and on the other the reality of decoration stores (real or online) that are literally overwhelmed with new products, often of mediocre quality. This terrible problem is also the same with fashion. We need to find the treasures of beauty that are sleeping in second-hand stores, in auction rooms, in our wardrobes or attics ...
Creating the memorable-paris website is for me a way to present to you, in my own way, these beautiful forgotten objects! I finally combine my skills, my passions and my convictions. Joy of finding a magnificent embroidered tablecloth that seems out of fashion, a dusty set of plates, a slightly dull carafe, silver-plated cutlery blackened by time. Know that I only buy objects that I like, and putting them online is sometimes heartbreaking. I then take great care of them by dusting them, washing them, polishing them! Be careful, I do not carry out any other repairs, I also love their little flaws, the traces that time has left on them such as our wrinkles.
By purchasing them, these objects come to you with their memory. It is then up to you to perpetuate their history by giving them a new life. It is your turn to take care of them and perhaps, one day, pass them on to those you love!
